How to draw
a Croissant?

Reflection
Through module 01, I got to learn how to represent a 3-dimensional object using basic representational tools such as orthographic drawings. I exercised my hand-drawing skills to represent the details of the actual croissant better, using different drawing techniques and conventions. This module taught us to look at the features that needed to be represented by drawing the croissant using tonal shadings techniques, contrasting the shadows to the highlights. As the shape of a croissant is the folding of itself over and over, shading stokes was done by following the direction of the actual crease, as well as sharpening the folding details of the croissant further to emphasize depth. It taught us the traditional way of architectural drawing, with using different pencil or pen weights for further depth and dimension. It was my first time using techniques such as cross-hatching, and I tried various ways to be effective in the delivery, which I found using 0.05 fine liner first to minimize mistakes.
